With technical brilliance and breathtaking musical interpretation, Anthony Bambino has defined himself as a guitarist with unparalleled ability to combine solid, catchy songwriting with a keen melodic sense and technical fury. From his virtuoso rock solos, to laying down intricate rhythm tracks, to his soulful vocals, to writing and producing jingles and film tracks, he has defined himself as a true musician in all aspects of his career.
Anthony's exposure to playing a musical instrument began at the early age of 5 yrs old when he started studying classical piano. Around the age of 15 yrs old, Anthony heard Van Halens eruption and decided that guitar was what he wanted to do.
He attended the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, CT where his musical career really took off. Between studying under jazz guitar great Randy Johnston and local guitar hero Jimi Bell, he practiced up to 8 hours/day. In 1989 he hooked up with the commercial rock group Spoiled Rotten, which quickly became of of the hottest bands at that time. Landing a spec deal with RCA records in 1990, the band went into the studio under producer great Glen Koloktin (who produced classic tracks like Joan Jett's "I Love Rock 'n' Roll, Carlos Santana, The Ramones). During the mix down stage, Pearl Jam and Nirvana hit the scene, basically eliminating all commercial hard rock acts off the map. With this, the record company decided to not invest any more money into this project amongst many other acts at that time, thus the album was never completed and pressed.
After the split up of Spoiled Rotten, Anthony went on to work with various other artists on recordings as a hired session guitarist, and also went on to do production work as well. Anthony appeared in Mike Varney's Spotlight Column in Guitar Player Magazine (Sept. 1990). In 1992 he teamed up with Bassist/Producer Fabrizio V.Zee Grossi and started a collaboration of writing and recording tracks that would eventually make it on to their album and super group Conspiracy. This also led to the formation of their 32 track recording studio where they produced, wrote, and engineered many recordings for NY artists as well as European artists. During the rough tracks of "Groove This" they hooked up with Drummer extrordinaire John Macaluso (TNT, Yngwie Malmsteen, George Lynch, Riot) and started writing/recording tracks for the trio's album Consopiracy "Groove This". The album sold many units worldwide and still remains on internet radio stations with requests by listeners. It was during this time Anthony landed many of his endorsements which included ESP Guitars, SIT strings, Mesa Boogie amplifications, ADA amplifications, Kahler Tremolos, Morley Pedals, and Robin Guitars.
Upon the release of this monster instrumental album, Anthony received rave reviews in numerous magazines worldwide including Guitar Player, Hard (Europe's Metal Edge). Anthony has been a clinician for Mesa Boogie amplifications, ADA amplifications, and Robin Guitars. In 1993 Anthony was the feature attraction at the Winter NAMM Convention for ADA amplifications. He was hired to play all 4 days for ADA amplifications and played alongside his partner Fabrizio V.Zee Grossi, and had guest appearances by Bass virtuoso's Victor Wooten, Steve Bailey.
